Fellow students! We are conducting survey for Year 3 to Year 6 students. The forms have been distributed to all of your. Please submit the form to your Class teachers on or before 14 Sept 2007.
If you do not have the form, your may fill up the soft copy form here and print or email to info@skbukitraya.net.my. Alternatively you may download the form in pdf format here!

Red houses interviewed and submitted their idol's
story last Saturday 27 Oct. Thanks for the update! The rest of
the groups were struggling with their idols story. Guys, we need to upload
your story by this week. So get them ready and pass them to Syazana, 6
Cempaka or any of the
committee members as soon as possible. Its okay if you don't have
such detailed write up like red house. Use the guideline given. We would like to take this week to complete everything, as you guys are not busy with exam anymore. Our adviser will be away in Kelantan from Saturday 5 Nov to Tue 6 Nov. Time is running out. We need to plan for the launch ceremony on Friday 9 November. Your cooperation is highly appreciated. We are keeping the house score secret until next Friday 9 Nov, when we will announce the winners! Good luck! |

6 Oct - Committee Meeting and Web Development - There was another committee meeting and web development in Computer Lab, SK Bukit Raya from 9.00 am to 1 pm. Beside Mr. Ghani. our Project Advisor, Cikgu Noradilah and Cikgu Zainuddin were present. We were showed and made to work on how profile of each student will be reflected into final tally of each house score. Making an interactive form (online) was rather interesting. Seems like a simple filling up form, but such a complicated "back end" (the term referred by Mr. Advisor) process! Keying in the form was quite a tedious job. Aiman and Aizat could not finish the job, so they were to finish it at home.

3 Oct - Quran Recital - Our fellow Smartz Rayan
group took part in tadarus and khatam alQuran at the school
level this morning. Among them were Syazana,
Aqilah, Elisha, Aiman and Nadhirah. Congratulation and syabas to all
participants. Our project adviser, En. Ghani was present to handover
certificates to participants. Earlier, Tn Hj Hisham Baba was giving away
present to participants, including a prayer mat, a brand new Quran, and duit
raya(undisclosed amount...!!!) Ustaz Ahmad Sabli mced the function while
Ustaz Faizol orchestrated the khatam ceremony.
Later, Puan Roslima gave away duit raya to orphans who are students of Bukit Raya. But the fun part was when Ustaz Faizol called on general audience (except for the tadarus participants) to recite certain verses of quran and won undisclosed amount of raya money. (claimed to be 1,000,000 ... emmmm rupiah?)
29 Sep - Committee meeting and web development. Another long, mind blowing experience for us the Smartz Rayans. Mr. Ghani, the Advisor showed us some new tricks in web development such as hyperlinking between pages, contents, buttons, pictures, etc. If you think of website, hyperlinking is the core part of website life. Without it you go nowhere!
FTP - File Transfer Protocol (We love the way our advisor say the word protocol! It sounded so cool. Earlier we learned it in HTTP). The concept of proxy server, local server, remote server and hosting was another mind blowing lesson. We were a bit off track due to questions posed by committee members to our advisor on server, and hosting concept. The more answers he gave, the more questions we got. Quoting our advisor's words, " technology is a bottomless pit". Now we knew that there is a lot more out there to learn. It is an exciting new world to be discovered.
Shout box, or chat box - another feature we learned and used during last committee meeting. It was so cool. It is just like sending SMS via mobile phones.... except that it is accessible to all and we don't have to worry about asking our mom for credit top up!
Training
22 Sep - Committee meeting and web update. We are braving Ramadhan with extra work. But it was fun.... We don't mind doing this web development and coordination meeting more regularly. There are so much to learn in such a short time. We are not worried whether we can complete the project within stipulated time frame, but whether we can win!

Saturday 15 Sep - The discussion and training by Mr. Advisor together with Cikgu Zainuddin was moved to Computer Lab due to some technical work needed to be done. Not enough laptop to go around! It was fun and happening! I didn't know that Mr. Ghani can be so funny. We supposed to complete the training by 12 pm but our team and Mr. Advisor so obliging, we end the session at 2 pm!
Wednesday 12 Sept - There was a Training on HTML by Cikgu Noradilah and Cikgu Zainuddin. Our Advisor, En. Ghani was present too. Thanks for dropping by. All committee members were present except for Ummar. He wanted to treat us for lunch before the training, but the canteen and the stall outside the school was closed. Never mind, save the thought for after ramadhan or you can take us for a "berbuka puasa". Then we can have our group meeting at the restaurant..... cool eh?
Learning new subject is interesting and sometimes challenging. The same goes to HTML. We never know that those nice web pages were built on such an intricate coding. We thought only living things have head and body. Web pages do too....!
Thanks to application such as MS Frontpage makes web development a whole lot easier. But understanding HTML coding is very interesting and "handy" as the advisor said. For example, the scrolling upward marquee in not available in Frontpage feature, but we can write our own code to make upward marquee.
Group Briefing
Monday 10 Sept - There was another group briefing and update in Bilik
Wawasan SK Bukit Raya done by our Advisor, En. Ghani. Beside the student
committee members, Puan Fatimah, Senior Headmistress Assistant, Tn Hj Hisham,
Chairman of PTA, Cikgu Zainuddin, Cikgu Noradilah, Cikgu Afiza,and Ustaz Ahmad
Sabli, were present.
The team was briefed on the project update, and next course of action. New activity scheduled was agreed and will be put into action. The briefing was completed by 2 pm and we were served with a sumptuous lunch sponsored by PTA. A BIG Thank you to PTA Committee of SK Bukit Raya.
We were touched by generous gesture and support by the School Teachers and PTA committee members and your congratulatory words for getting into Phase 2 of the competition make us want to work harder. Without your support and commitment, we wont be here today.

On the survey form distributed, some of our fellow students are "confused" on how to fill up the form. Please get advice from committee members!
